Dina Meyer was born in Forest Hills, Queens, New York, but moved to Dix Hills, Long Island shortly before the end of her final year of junior high school. Her siblings include an older brother whose name is Gregory as well as a younger sibling known as Evan. At the age of 9 up to 16, she started working in the industry of entertainment through modelling. She began her training in acting in The Neighborhood Playhouse in New York and studied Sanford Meisner's acting techniques together with Ron Stetson, for about three years. Sandra Bullock received similar training as did Michael Douglas and Jeff Goldblum. Leslie Nielsen, Diane Keaton are among the actors that have undergone the same type of instruction. The first role she acted in was in Beverly Hills 90210. This meant she had to move out into Los Angeles. After securing the lead role on Johnny Mnemonic where she did most of the stunts on her own, she established her self as an actor who is physically fit. Her agent was Matt LeBlanc, so through her talent agent, she was able to land a regular role in the show Friends.
